PoolRoot

Struct PoolRoot

Source
pub(crate) struct PoolRoot {
    sexp: SEXP,
    key: ProtectKey,
    _not_send: PhantomData<*mut ()>,
}
Expand description

One R object rooted in the main-thread pool, released when dropped.

For roots that R’s finalizers drop, such as the caches an ALTREP owner keeps in data1. GC finalizes the newest objects first, while R_ReleaseObject scans the precious list from its head, so precious-list roots taken in any other order release in quadratic time. The pool releases in O(1) whatever the order.

Raw-pointer marker: !Send and !Sync, so it is dropped on the thread that took it.

Fields§

§sexp: SEXP§key: ProtectKey§_not_send: PhantomData<*mut ()>

Implementations§

Source§

impl PoolRoot

Source

pub(crate) unsafe fn new(sexp: SEXP) -> Self

Root sexp, which needs no protection of its own.

§Safety

Must run on R’s main thread.

Source

pub(crate) fn get(&self) -> SEXP

The rooted object.

Trait Implementations§

impl Drop for PoolRoot

Source§

fn drop(&mut self)

Executes the destructor for this type. Read more
Source§

fn pin_drop(self: Pin<&mut Self>)

🔬This is a nightly-only experimental API. (pin_ergonomics)
Execute the destructor for this type, but different to Drop::drop, it requires self to be pinned. Read more

default fn lower_bound(&self) -> usize

🔬This is a nightly-only experimental API. (core_io_internals)
Returns a lower bound on the number of elements this container-like item contains. For example, an array [u8; 12] could return any value between 0 and 12 inclusively as a correct implementation. Read more

Layout§

Note: Most layout information is completely unstable and may even differ between compilations. The only exception is types with certain repr(...) attributes. Please see the Rust Reference's “Type Layout” chapter for details on type layout guarantees.
