Report the sync status of DVS-managed files
Description
Section titled “Description”Reports the sync status of DVS-managed files. By default all statuses
are shown. Pass a character vector of status names, such as
c("current", "absent"), to show only those.
A file whose status cannot be read is always kept, with status "error",
the kind of failure in code and the reason in error.
dvs_status( paths = character(0), recursive = FALSE, glob = NULL, status = c("current", "absent", "stale", "modified", "unsynced"))Arguments
Section titled “Arguments”| Argument | Description |
|---|---|
paths | Files or directories to report, relative to the working directory. NULL is the same as character(0). |
recursive | If TRUE, directory inputs include all descendants. If FALSE or NULL, only direct children of the directory are returned. The flag only constrains descendants of paths passed explicitly. When paths is empty, every tracked file is returned regardless of nesting depth, and recursive has no effect. |
glob | A glob that selects tracked files, such as "*.csv". It runs from the working directory, or from each directory in paths. * does not cross a path separator, so *.csv matches a.csv but not sub/a.csv. Use **/*.csv to match at any depth. Mutually exclusive with recursive. |
status | The statuses to include, any of: - "current": the local file matches the tracked version. - "absent": the file is tracked but missing locally. - "stale": the local file is what dvs last wrote or added there, and the tracked version has changed since, for example after a git pull. dvs_get() updates it. - "modified": the local file differs from the tracked version and from what dvs last wrote or added there. - "unsynced": the local file differs from the tracked version, and dvs has no record of what it last wrote there. NULL, character(0) and the default show every status. |
A tibble with one row per tracked file and always the same
columns: path (relative to the project root), status, hash (the
blake3 hash of the tracked version), size (dvs_bytes, the size of the
tracked version), created_by (who added it), compression, message
(the message given at add, NA without one), code and error (NA
unless status is "error") and add_time (POSIXct, UTC). Files that
dvs does not track are not listed. A row whose metadata cannot be read has
NA in the metadata columns.
