R’s as.character() of values carrying column’s attributes (class,
tzone, units, …): the text R prints for each key, with S3 dispatch for
a classed column (Date, POSIXct, …) and C-level coercion otherwise.
The temporary key vector is protected while as.character() allocates; a
failing method surfaces as DataFrameError::Conversion (it is evaluated
with RCall::eval, so it never unwinds through Rust frames).
